It is remarkable how much English music influenced today's pop and rock scene. A possible explanation for this would be the national language: English namely has the peculiarity that more words and phrases rhyme, as in any other language. English music has always enjoyed a free exchange to and from other countries.
Traditional English Music
Traditional English music is a mix of several cultural influences. Instruments utilized in traditional English music were the ancient harpischord, madrigals, galliards, pipe, hurdy gurdy, crumhorn, bagpipe, and fiddle. English folk music soon became international in it expansion. It led to many priceless English music collections and community dances. The English have fought hard to hold onto their traditional folk heritage. Ballads, hornpipes, jigs, protest songs, and sea shanties barely touch on the folk music that has survived the passage of time.
Modern English Music
English music is an innovative international force in modern times even more than it was in its traditional era. Modern English music retains its flavors from church music and English folk music. Other contributors have stemmed from Wales, Scotland, Ireland, and the United States. Australia, Canada, and South Africa have also been important to modern English tunes. By the same token, modern English music has a heavy hand in all of these music cultures. Electric folk and rock music has English origins. The Beatles were a noteworthy English rock band that tremendously changed the international music scene. British hip hop enjoyed a huge influx from Jamaica in the 1960s and 1970s where drums and the bass were featured. More modern English hip hop has ties with rap and break dance and has run parallel to American hip hop.
